Post Office Editorial, a film production company in Camden, Maine, and Adventure Advertising, an advertising agency located in neighboring Rockport, Maine, collaborated with Habitat for Humanity spokesman Steve Thomas on a series of six live-action/animated television commercials for Habitat for Humanity ReStores. Habitat for Humanity ReStores are nonprofit home improvement stores and donation centers that sell new and gently used furniture, appliances, home accessories, building materials and more to the public at a fraction of the retail price. Proceeds are used to help build strength, stability, self-reliance and shelter in local communities and around the world.

The six television commercials produced by Post Office Editorial and Adventure Advertising place real people and Habitat for Humanity spokesperson Steve Thomas in an animated setting to show how donating to a local ReStore is an excellent way to reuse almost everything home related. From building and remodeling materials to furniture, the spots show that donating to a ReStore is easy, good for the environment, and good for local communities. The commercial series was shot in Portland, Maine and edited at the Post Office Editorial studio in Camden. Storyboard, graphics and animation were provided by Adventure Advertising.

“We’re proud to work with Habitat for Humanity and to join in the great work they do throughout the United States and around the world” said David Berez from Post Office Editorial. “It’s rare that the path from donation to benefit is as direct as it is for the ReStores. It’s part of what makes working on a project such as this so personally rewarding. ”

Adventure Advertising’s Joe Ryan added “This project is a wonderful demonstration of the level of talent and capabilities present in Maine. Habitat for Humanity could have chosen any production team to work together with. The chose us because of our creativity, skill, and our proven track record. It again proves that Maine can compete with anyone for quality workmanship. ”

Post Office Editorial and Adventure Advertising have collaborated on numerous projects for clients including projects for The American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, The American Academy of Dermatology, The Penobscot Bay YMCA, MBNA and others.
